Ptarmigan Inn Hotels Ltd is seeking a Hotel General Manager for our Hay River location in the Northwest Territories. This position offers a competitive salary of $70,000 annually with a commission of 1% per piece.

As the Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the hotel’s daily operations. You must allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs.
Additionally, you will be tasked with authorizing and organizing the establishment of central departments and associated senior staff positions and coordinating the work of regions, divisions, or departments.
You will establish financial and administrative controls, formulate and approve promotional campaigns, and support overall human resources planning. You will also be required to set objectives for the organization and draft or approve policies and programs.
As the Hotel General Manager, you will represent the organization or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization in negotiations or other official functions.
You will select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff, delegate the necessary authority to them, and create optimum working conditions.
You will supervise more than 20 people and should have experience and specialization in computer and technology knowledge and MS Office. You should also be bondable, pass a criminal record check, and possess a valid driver’s license.
To qualify for this position, you must have a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years or equivalent experience.
You should have two or less than three years of relevant experience in the accommodation and food services industry.
You must be fluent in English and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. It would be best if you were organized, a team player, and could work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
