Fulbright Scholarship Deadline (Masters & Ph.D.)

Fulbright Scholarship is a fully financed scholarship, mainly for International students. It is only available for master’s and doctoral programs.

The total cost of education, a living stipend, full housing costs, flights, and health insurance are all covered by the Fulbright Foreign Student Program.

The Fulbright scholarship is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State the U.S. government’s leading international educational exchange program.

The scholarship program promoted international understanding through educational and cultural exchange. The awards are given to applicants without regard to their gender identity, sexual orientation, age, race, color, country of origin, or socioeconomic situation.

How to apply for a Fulbright Scholarship 2023?

To apply for a Fulbright scholarship in 2023, please follow the steps listed below:

1. Create an online application.

You must gather a range of materials to be submitted with your Fulbright application for the USEFP to evaluate your eligibility. Your application must be accompanied by all required materials.

Visit the website HERE for the online application.

2. Upload your degrees and academic transcripts.

All transcripts and degrees from a 4-year undergraduate program or any comparable program, such as   ACCA or international 3-year bachelor’s degrees, are to be submitted.

Transcripts and an MPhil or M.S. degree are required for Ph.D. applicants. You may also apply if you’re in your final year of undergraduate study and plan to graduate by December of this year.

The USEFP considers all aspects of your transcripts, not just your GPA. They assess your educational background ( the school you attended), your courses, and how well you performed in each study. They also take into account the fact that various universities use various grading systems.

Although there is no required GPA for applicants, most Fulbright students have excellent academic records. The Fulbright panel evaluates applicants in several ways, including undergraduate academic performance.

 3. Take the TOEFL and GRE General Exam.

You may include either your unofficial GRE score from the exam day or your official score if you have already received it in your application submission.

Each applicant must use the code “9388” to ask ETS to provide an official score report directly to USEFP. At the time of application, GRE general (international) test results are necessary. A good GRE score is 315 or higher for engineering and science and 310 or higher for all other areas. A GRE subject test is not required.

On the verbal and quantitative aspects of the GRE test, a score of 138 must be considered for the Fulbright. Yet, most candidates who are approved have GRE scores that are in the upper percentile.

At the time of application submission, the TOEFL is NOT necessary. You must take the TOEFL exam if you are invited for an interview. IELTS is inadmissible.

 4. You are to prepare two essays

The Fulbright application requires you to submit two essays. Each essay needs to be 800 words or less and completed in the application form’s allotted area.

Write clearly in your essays so that the Fulbright panel, which is unfamiliar with your world, may better understand you. You must develop a marketing plan before you begin writing the essays. Successful candidates usually take 4-6 weeks to write and revise their papers.

 5. Three Recommendation letters are necessarily required.

You must also submit three recommendations with your application by the deadline. You can have three letters of recommendation from academic sources, two from professionals and one from academics, or two from each.

In other words, you need one academic reference letter. Your referees must complete the reference forms in the application package and seal the envelopes with their signatures and stamps. An online form will be delivered to your referees through email once you’ve submitted your application online.

Note there is no specific format for writing the recommendation letters.

6. Organize and upload your academic resume.

The space on the application form should be filled with a most recent and current resume. It is not necessary to have it in a particular format

7. Submit the Online Application Form

Application fees for the Fulbright scholarship program are not required. Just ensure you submit your applications online.

 8. Attend your Interview

Following the submission and approval of your application, you might receive an invitation to an interview which will be held in October.

If USEFP does not contact you by October, it is assumed that you have not been chosen. The interview is a good indicator of selection but not a guarantee of admission.

An interview panel of four people conducts the 15 to 30-minute interviews.

It is optional that you have taken the TOEFL exam by the interview date, but you must bring your TOEFL registration slip with you on the interview day.
